The Story
The Recollections of Dr. Greyson is a power metal concept album by Tierra Krieg that explores a haunting alternate history where Nazi Germany emerges victorious in World War II. Told through the eyes of Captain Greyson—also known as “the professor”—the album begins with the American invasion of Italy but quickly spirals into a world-shifting divergence. During a covert naval operation, Greyson unwittingly allows the Axis to capture a secret uranium-235 core fragment and bomb schematics—an event that changes the course of history.
The album chronicles the bitter campaign through Italy, the brutal siege of Monte Cassino, and the tragic choices Greyson makes, caught between duty, survival, and an unraveling sense of morality. As the Third Reich develops the atomic bomb first and drops it over London, Greyson becomes both witness and unwilling architect of a new world order.
Each track alternates between third-person narratives (female vocals) and Greyson’s first-person introspections (male vocals), pulling listeners deeper into the psychological collapse of a man who may have doomed the world. From battlefield anthems to sorrowful dirges, the album paints a cinematic and harrowing vision of how one decision can alter the fate of millions—and how the weight of history is often carried by the few.
