The Story
Dei et Homines (“Of Gods and Men”) is an experimental metal odyssey that rips open the ancient covenant between humanity and its gods.
Across eleven sweeping tracks, the album traverses mythologies and civilizations—Hindu, Norse, Mesoamerican, Hurrian, Greco-Roman—juxtaposing humanity’s ancestral reverence with its growing defiance. From whispered rituals in dead languages to titanic riffs echoing in ruined sanctuaries, the record is a sound-mosaic of rebellion, memory, and transcendence.
Each song examines a different manifestation of divine authority: gods who demand obedience, mortals who question the contract, and cultures who shape meaning through sacrifice. The lyrics dissolve traditional structure, alternating between screamed manifestos, sung laments, and multilingual chants. Instrumentation draws from around the world—tanpura, teponaztli, lyre, talharpa, Gregorian choirs—woven into crushing layers of doom, progressive, post-metal, and ambient blackened textures.
The journey culminates in the apocalyptic duality of the final tracks:
“Deicide | Apotheosis”, where the gods fall and something new stirs in the ruins, and “Ashes Upon the Firmament”, a multilingual, word-shattering instrumental ritual that merges every voice—ancient and modern—into a final transcendent flame.
