The Story

Oracular is a globe-spanning power-metal epic that chases the voice of fate from Delphi and Dodona to Siwa/Amun, the Cumaean Sibyl, Rome’s Sibylline vaults and Praeneste, across Ionia (Didyma, Claros) and Boeotia (Trophonius, Amphiaraus), then far afield to Pachacamac (Peru), Shang Anyang/Yīnxū (oracle bones), the Yijing tradition of Zhou China, Nechung (Tibet), and Ifá/Òrúnmìlà (Ile-Ife, Nigeria). Each track fuses symphonic power metal with epic gothic color and authentic regional instruments (aulos, kithara, sistrum, ney, hydraulos, tibia/cornu, panpipes/charango, dizi/pipa/erhu, dungchen/gyaling, bàtá/dùndún). Short instrumental rites and 10–20% native-language lines draw directly from the cultures that cast the lots.

Musically, a recurring five-note “Delphic Five” leitmotif threads the album, binding diverse modes (Dorian, Phrygian, Aeolian, pentatonic) into one narrative arc. Expect two alternating chorus styles per song, bigger symphonic/orchestral lifts, heavier guitar riffs and dual-lead solos, and field-recorded textures (wind, bells, water, drums) that place you inside each sanctuary. The result is a fast, towering, and mystic journey where prophecy isn’t just told—it’s hammered into bronze, carved in bone, breathed through reeds, and beaten on skins across fifteen tracks.
