The Story

Tower of Babel is a heavy-metal album that climbs from the mud of Shinar to the death of Alexander the Great. It traces Babylon’s rise, splendor, and fall—Hammurabi’s law, the Akītu procession, Hittite shock, Assyrian wrath and oath, Nabopolassar’s coalition, Nebuchadnezzar II’s walls and the Ishtar Gate, the siege of Jerusalem, Belshazzar’s omen, Adad-guppi and Nabonidus in Tayma, and the quiet, engineered capture under Cyrus the Great—“A Night of Doors and Water.”

Musically it fuses historical power metal with Mesopotamian/Levantine colors: ney and zurna over twin-lead guitars, oud and lyre beneath double-kick, santur “tile” sparkles, frame-drum/riq caravans, plus work-site foley (kilns, stamps, water). About a quarter of the vocals weave Akkadian, Aramaic, Hebrew, Arabic, and Sumerian chant into modern hooks.
