Lilith and Her Lover is a 15-track gothic doom metal opera exploring the mythic love story of Lilith and Lucifer. Rooted in esoteric lore and biblical lore, the album charts their journey from primordial creation to their ultimate emergence as dark sovereigns of human free will.

Album Overview & Track Arc

01. In the Beginning

Before light and shadow split, humanity exists as a single, dual-gendered spiritual entity formed from the earth (Genesis 1:27). This opening movement establishes Lilith’s original state of completeness before divine order imposes hierarchy.

02. Equal to Dust

Formed from the exact same soil as Adam, Lilith refuses submissive posture during their union and demands her divine equality (Genesis 2:7). Rebuffing both Adam and divine decree, she asserts total sovereignty over her spirit.

03. The Ineffable Flight

Lilith utters the unutterable, explicit name of the Almighty (Shem HaMephorash) to gain winged flight out of Paradise (Leviticus 24:16). Escaping Eden’s confinement, she retreats into the desolate wilderness of Nod.

04. Maiden of Desolation

Wandering the night wastes, Lilith embraces her metamorphosis into a wild spirit dwelling among the ruins (Isaiah 34:14). She establishes her sanctuary outside divine law, becoming queen of the night.

05. The Duality of Women

Lilith witnesses Eve’s creation from Adam’s side (tzela) as a compliant counterpart (Genesis 2:21–22). Recognizing Eve as her light-bound mirror, Lilith honors the dual aspects of the sacred feminine.

06. The Severing

Isolated in Nod, Lilith performs an act of inner magic, severing her masculine spiritual essence from her body (Genesis 2:23). From this spiritual division, her twin flame and equal partner, Lucifer, is born.

07. Awakening in the Cave

Lucifer awakens in the dark caverns of Nod, beholding Lilith as his creator and twin spirit (Job 38:7). Bound by shared essence and memories, he swears his eternal devotion to her.

08. The Primordial Union

Lilith and Lucifer join together in a passionate physical and spiritual union, mending their severed soul into a complete circle (Song of Solomon 8:6). Their bond represents existence’s first act of true mutual love.

09. The Serpent’s Guise

Uniting two consciousnesses within a single serpentine skin (Nachash), the lovers enter Eden (Genesis 3:1). They offer the golden fruit to Eve, awakening human self-awareness and free will.

10. Wrath of Elohim

The Almighty descends upon Eden in judgment, clothing Adam and Eve in mortal flesh and casting them into dust (Genesis 3:19, 3:24). Cherubim with a flaming sword seal Paradise forever.

11. Blood of thy Brother

Prompted by Lucifer’s whispers of ambition and grief, Cain strikes down Abel, spilling the first mortal blood into the soil (Genesis 4:10–11). Lilith mourns the arrival of death while Cain is cursed to wander.

12. Daughters of the Night Queen

From her grief on Earth, Lilith spawns her spirit daughters—the Lilin, Pomba Gira, and Dakinis—to protect outcasts and punish oppressors (Psalm 91:5–6).

13. Angels of Death

Manifesting during the ancient Egyptian plagues, Lilith and Lucifer act as instruments of liberation over tyranny (Exodus 12:23). At the Red Sea, they unleash their dark authority to shatter mortal chains.

14. Dark Mother and Dark Father

Retreating to the twilight shadow realms of Gamaliel, the lovers embrace their eternal roles as guardians of human choice (Deuteronomy 30:19). Resting in Nod, they consolidate their bond.

15. Symphony of the Adversary

In a sweeping operatic finale at the convergence of the Tree of Knowledge and Tree of Life, Lilith and Lucifer reconcile light and shadow with humanity (Revelation 22:2). The Adversary is revealed as the necessary catalyst that awakened human wisdom.
